At the bar: A good selection of cask ales, lagers, beers, usual spirits and soft drinks, plus a reasonable wine selection.

Ambience: Lovely. Outside on a warm summer evening, glass of wine in hand, decent food, stunning sea views and happy kids – you can't really better it. Youngsters were entertained in the mini playground and amusement hut.

Customer service: Efficient, quick and friendly. The food receipt stated we would have a 30-minute wait for food, but it was with us in half that time.

The punters: Some holiday-makers, with a mix of local faces. An influx of cricketers from the local club jollied along the evening as they discussed the match they had just played over a pint.

Worth going back? I haven't been here for a couple of years, but have promised to make more visits as the evening we spent there was lovely.
